How it is played
Although the name of the game may sound a little intimidating, Punto Banco is an extremely easy game. Like its counterpart, Baccarat, it does not involve many decisions, strategies or rules. You will only need to learn the basic rules, the available bets and so on. In online versions of the game, once you have placed your bet, all you have to do is wait for the result. The third card is dealt automatically and you cannot influence this.
Punto Banco is played with 8 decks of cards and the aim of the game is to get as close as possible to the number 9, without going over. Cards from 2 to 9 keep their value, the Ace has a value of 1 and tens, jacks, queens and kings have a value of 0. The first two cards are dealt to the player, Punto, and the banker, Banco, and depending on the result a third card may also be dealt, automatically. There are only two decisions for the player to make: placing a bet on the player, the banker or a tie, and choosing the betting limits.
